Target demographic: Vermonters, tourists and second-home owners

With a state-wide reach and a focus on central and southern Vermont events we’re targeting the 329,000 Vermonters and their families who, according to the July 2006 U.S. Census report, live in Addison, Bennington, Rutland, Orange, Washington, Windsor, and Windham, counties

Out-of-state visitors made an estimated 10 million trips to Vermont in 2005, according to the Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing. When in-state visitors are included, spending totaled $1.57 billion. Second home owners made 1.3 million trips to Vermont and spent an average of 5 nights in a visit.

In order of spending:

Lodging $372 million
Restaurants/Bars $354 million
Shopping $337 million

We’re projecting page views of 30,000 in the first month climbing to 100,000 by month 5 and unique users growing from 5,000 to 15,000 a month.

The site will be aggressively promoted in the Rutland Herald newspaper, rutlandherald.com and other media.
